2015 Weissenhof Grotesk

Weissenhof Grotesk
The type family is inspired by the Weißenhofsiedlung (Weissenhof estate)
that was built in 1927 as one of the best examples of the new, modern architecture
in Germany – an architecture without any ornament, using basic geometric forms.
17 architects, among them Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius, created
a model housing programme for the modern urbanite. A minimum of form should guarantee a maximum of freedom.
